A select group of outstanding students has been named to the spring 2019 Dean's List at Adelphi University. Adelphi's deans of Arts and Sciences, Education, Business, Nursing, Social Work and Psychology recognize superior academic work every semester. The Dean's List comprises full-time students-registered for 12 or more credits-who have completed at least 9 graded credits and achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above for the semester. This recognition becomes part of the student's academic record and is entered into the individual's transcript.

74 Monroe College Student-Athletes Named to 2018-19 NJCAA All-Academic Team
Earlier this month, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced its 2018-19 NJCAA All-Academic Team, honoring student-athletes that had excelled academically throughout the year. A record number of 74 Monroe College Mustangs were recognized. Eight of these student-athletes earned NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors (4.00 GPA or above); 30 achieved NJCAA All-Academic Second Team recognition (3.80-3.99 GPA); and 36 made the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team (3.60-3.79 GPA).

Students Graduate from SUNY Delhi Spring 2019
More than 690 students graduated from SUNY Delhi in May 2019. Commencement was held on May 18, and over 750 certificates, associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees were conferred upon the Class of 2019. Some 3,275 students were awarded degrees during the University of Vermont's 218th commencement ceremonies. Darren Walker who presides over the Ford Foundation, one of the world's most influential social justice philanthropies and one of the largest private foundations in the United States, delivered the address.

SUNY Oneonta peer tutors earn national certification
Congratulations to the 19 peer tutors who earned National Tutor Association Level 1 Certification this academic year through SUNY Oneonta's Student Learning Center. Tutors have completed the courses for which they are tutoring at SUNY Oneonta and have received a B+ or better in the course. All tutors complete a 2-hour training workshop before working with tutees, and they complete additional training throughout the time they work at SLC. Effective Fall 2016, all newly hired tutors are working toward completing National Tutoring Association (NTA) basic level certification.

Student Hackers Complete ETIC Cybersecurity Challenge
Fifteen NYIT students from New York City and Long Island campuses formed eight teams and competed in the fifth ETIC Cybersecurity Hackathon. Teams had to solve an encryption problem, use the solution to unlock the next challenge, and so on until all the problems, in order of increasing difficulty, were solved. First, second, and third prizes were awarded to the fastest teams to solve all 15 problems.

Students Recognized for Leadership at SUNY Oneonta
SUNY Oneonta recently recognized nearly 200 students who have attained leadership milestones through the college's LEAD (Leadership Education and Development) program. LEAD@Oneonta is a comprehensive leadership program based on current research and guidelines from the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education. All students can choose to participate in the LEAD program, which aims to better prepare them for life after college by providing a comprehensive picture of leadership and the skills needed to be a good leader. Students can attain a silver, gold or platinum level. To attain each level, students must meet a mix of programmatic and experiential leadership requirements, including completion of online courses, attendance at educational events, and membership and leadership in one or more of SUNY Oneonta's 100+ student-run clubs and organizations. Completion of a leadership level is recognized on campus as a credential that can be used, for example, when running for office or applying for STEP (Student Travel for Excellence Program) funding. The program also provides students with a leadership record that can be submitted to potential employers.

Over 160 Graduates Celebrate Diversity at SUNY Oneonta Kente Ceremony
Over 160 students were celebrated as part of the Kente Graduation Recognition Ceremony. Sponsored by the Department of Africana/Latino Studies, the Office of Equity and Inclusion and the Office of Student Diversity and Advocacy, the annual ceremony recognizes the achievements of SUNY Oneonta's diverse student population-African American, Latino, Asian and Native American (AALANA) students and non-AALANA students and allies.

ESU to Graduate 1,187 Students at Three Commencement Exercises
A total of 1,187 students will receive degrees from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania at separate commencement exercises for undergraduate and graduate students on May 10 and May 11. ESU will hold three graduation ceremonies: one for graduate students on Friday, May 10 at 6:45 p.m. and two ceremonies for undergraduate students on Saturday, May 11. The undergraduate ceremonies will take place at 8:45 a.m. (College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education) and at 1:15 p.m. (College of Business and Management and College of Health Sciences). All three ceremonies will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse. A total of 995 bachelor's degrees, 188 master's degrees and four doctoral degrees will be awarded.

Monroe College Student-Athletes Receive NJCAA Region XV Academic All-Region Honors
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XV recently released the names of all student-athletes that earned Academic All-Region honors for the Winter 2019 Semester. Students are eligible for this list if they earn a 3.25 or higher GPA while concurrently competing in a sport.

More Than 700 Students Receive SUNY Oneonta Scholarships
More than 700 students have been awarded scholarships at the annual scholarship dinner held on April 4. SUNY Oneonta's scholarship funds total over $60 million and are the result of contributions from donors, corporations and foundations. It is the largest endowment among SUNY comprehensive four-year colleges.

196 Students Receive Susan Sutton Smith Award
A total of 196 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2018-2019 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher. Student award winners receive a certificate, a gift card to the campus bookstore, and an invitation to attend the annual Susan Sutton Smith Lecture and reception. Dr. Tracy Betsinger, associate professor of biological anthropology, will deliver this year's Susan Smith Lecture titled, "Babies Are Us: What Can We Learn from Fetuses and Infants from History and Prehistory," on Tuesday, April 9, 7 p.m. in the Otsego Grille, Morris Conference Center on campus.

A total of 1,513 students have been named to the Dean's List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Fall 2018 semester of the 2018-2019 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. Students eligible for the Dean's List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade "B" earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade "A" earns 4 quality points per credit.
